Post Apocalyptic Space Movie Wrapped
I shot a short film called P.A.S.M. this weekend out at Austin Studios. We were able to shoot in stage 3 too, aka the big ass green screen, for principle photography. The movie takes place both in a space truck and on post apocalyptic earth. They encounter some strange things down on earth, and that's all I'll say. We finished up the shoot Sunday night with a few miniatures. Below is the full scale model of the space buoy, created by John Berry and Bethany Price. In the shot stands director Andrew Alden Miller 1, enjoying a nice cold Shiner after wrapping the cast and crew.

Day of the Dead
The Mexic Arte Museum asked me to come out and shoot the Viva la Vida Fest last weekend, in celebration of Day of the Dead. Here's some video stills I pulled from the shoot...

Hunter Gatherers Promo
Here's a promo Landry Gideon and I made for a play at the Hyde Park Theater, starting this week. It's called Hunter Gatherers...
Pam and Richard are hosting their best friends, Wendy and Tom, for their annual dinner get-together. An animal sacrifice kicks off the evening, followed by a little more sex, violence, deception, revelations, wrestling and dancing than previous years. A darkly comic evening where the line between civilized and primal man is blurred, and where not everyone will survive long enough to enjoy the brownies for dessert.

Derby of Death
Shot 2nd Unit last night on Jonny Stranger's new production, Derby of Death. It's a slasher thriller about two opposing derby teams battling it out in the arena of death. Looked like Thunderdome up in that mofo last night. Lots of fun, thanks to Stranger for putting it all together.

Hunter Gatherers
Shot a promo last night for a new play at Hyde Park Theater called Hunter Gatherers. Should be a lot of fun to cut together. Used the green screen out at Austin Studios. I'm excited to see this play, these actors are amazing. The play is directed by Mark Pickell of Captial T Theater. Opening at Hyde Park Theater next week, Oct 14th.

Grandpage 2010
2 weeks ago I got a call from my friend Lance Rosenfield, asking if I'd come out and help him shoot a bunch of people dressed up like old people. I said sure thing. They were raising awareness of National Grandparents Day, which is apparently September 12th. They handed out candy, Gas X, and played bingo at the Jackelope on 6th Street. I say its a great holiday and should make it onto all calendars worldwide. http://www.grandparents-day.com/

Flash Tests
Been doing some flash tests to get ready for the Annual Quero Texas Turkey Fest 2010. Max and Werner have been nice enough to let me steal their soul for the sake of Turkey portraits.

The Contract Shoot Wrapped
After a previous failed attempt to shoot downtown at Audiotorium Shores, we finally got permission to make this short film last night. It was probably for the best, we needed more prep time in all departments.
Fortunately, last night went really smoothly. No rain. Andrew and Matt did a wonderful job as Philip and Johnson. They're the two leads in The Contract, a new short film written by Jeff Nitzberg, Andrew Miller, and myself.
We came up with the idea to shoot a lens test for Jeff''s new anamorphic PL lens. But instead of just a shooting a bunch of cool shots with music from He Got Game, we decided to write a script that we could shoot in a few hours, with a reasonably small all-star cast and crew. Jeff was the Director of Photography, since no one else in the world has ever adapted a busted ass anamorphic PL lens to a Canon 7D. His AC was his doppelganger Jake Eberts. I asked my good friend and new go to sound guy Landry Gideon to come out, and Max Douglas came along to assist in the many facets of production.
