After a previous failed attempt to shoot downtown at Audiotorium Shores, we finally got permission to make this short film last night. It was probably for the best, we needed more prep time in all departments.
Fortunately, last night went really smoothly. No rain. Andrew and Matt did a wonderful job as Philip and Johnson. They're the two leads in
The Contract, a new short film written by Jeff Nitzberg, Andrew Miller, and myself.
We came up with the idea to shoot a lens test for Jeff''s new anamorphic PL lens. But instead of just a shooting a bunch of cool shots with music from
He Got Game, we decided to write a script that we could shoot in a few hours, with a reasonably small all-star cast and crew. Jeff was the Director of Photography, since no one else in the world has ever adapted a busted ass anamorphic PL lens to a Canon 7D. His AC was his doppelganger Jake Eberts. I asked my good friend and new go to sound guy Landry Gideon to come out, and Max Douglas came along to assist in the many facets of production.
